New Moon Trailer Breaks Viewing Records

newmoonteaser

Well DAMN, the numbers are in and The Twilight Saga: New Moon’s first trailer got 10.6 million online views via Myspace & MTV.com in its first week.  The trailer was viewed by 5.6 million people during the live telecast of the 2009 MTV Movies awards.

per PR Newswire:

“LOS ANGELES, June 9 /PRNewswire/ — The movie trailer for Summit Entertainment’s THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON received 10.6 million online views in its first week from the trailer’s domestic launch partners, MySpace and MTV. The trailer views on MySpace set a new record for the site with a total of 4.2 million online views within the first 24 hours and a total of 7.8 million within the first seven days. After being seen by 5.3 million viewers during its broadcast debut during the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, the trailer also received a total of 2.8 million online views on MTV.com within the first week.

The achievement is not only a record for MySpace, but also surpassed the views of the third and final trailer for the first film TWILIGHT, which received 3.2 million views in its first 48 hours online.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, and directed by Chris Weitz will be released November 20, 2009.”

Lets not forgot about YouTube.com, if you add in some of the YouTube postings (including Twilights YouTube page), those hits total to 6.8 million views to date.

So, if you add all that up that is roughly 23 million views in a little over a week!!!

Can’t wait to see what the opening weekend take is going to be on this movie!!!

David Slade Addresses Twilight Comments!!!

david-slade

Well that didn’t take long, a little over 24hrs have gone by since TwilightLexion, myself and many other media outlets reported on the comments Eclipse Director David Slade made about Twilight, putting the entire Twilight universe into a frenzy.

Well, Slade sent a personal email to the good folks over at TwilightLexion.com, you can read the whole post HERE.

Here is the actual email from David Slade posted up the lex:

“Dear Laura and Lori

I would be grateful if you could distribute this statement to the fans of Twilight:I would like to address some statements that I made regarding Twilight.

When I made these comments, I had neither seen the film nor read the books. I was promoting a comedy short film that I had made for Xbox and every pop culture subject was seen as a possible comedy target. I was being silly and none of the statements were from the heart.

Of course, I have since seen the movie and read the books and was quickly consumed with the rich storytelling and the beautifully honest characters that Stephenie Meyer created.

I would like to reassure everyone involved that I am invested in making the best film that I am humanly capable of, and that I am acutely aware of the power of the original books we serve.

Please be rest assured this statement is absolutely from the heart.

yours sincerely

DAVID SLADE”

Now, I am not an easy forgiver,  but he does sound sincere.  At least he had the good mind to issue a statment via the TwilightLexicon.com and not some crap PR statement.

Tell me Twilighters, do you belive him or is he just trying to dig himself out of this grave???
