Is ‘Breaking Dawn’ to be 2 Films…Not So Fast!!
Earlier today DeadlineHollywood.com announced that Summit Entertainment is officially making ‘Breaking Dawn’ (the 4th and largest novel in the series) into 2 films. With filming starting in October and both films being shot back to back.
Only problem with this…Its not Official!!
Per GossipCop.com
The official word given to Gossip Cop from a rep for Summit is, “No decision has been made and as we have said all along we are continuing to work with Stephenie Meyer to bring Breaking Dawn to the big screen.”
HOWEVER, a well-placed source tells Gossip Cop dividing Breaking Dawn into two pictures “is the direction that it’s going in.” We’re told that from a practical standpoint, separating the story into two parts and shooting back-to-back is what makes most sense.
Earlier reports seem to be fairly accurate when it comes to timing, specifically, that filming may begin in October.
Hopefully this means we will be getting some kind of official statement soon from Summit!!
‘Breaking Dawn’ Production Update!!!
I’m going to start this by saying this an a REAL update straight from producer Wyck Godfrey!!
According to interview in the LA Times Wyck states that filming could start as soon as Fall of 2010.
“When it was released in August 2008, fan reaction was intense and divided with some “Twi-hards” expressing confusion and dismay over a plot that involved *SPOILER ALERT* a recently graduated 19-year-old Bella giving birth to a half-human/half-vamp daughter named Renesmee, who grows much faster than the average mortal child and who possesses a unique way of communicating with those around her, clearly inherited from Dad’s side of the family.
Wyck Godfrey, the producer of all the films in the “Twilight” saga, admits that the creative team still doesn’t know how they’ll handle the character in the “Breaking Dawn” movie, but said that the plan is absolutely for the production to go forward — as either one or two installments — with an eye toward beginning to shoot in Vancouver this fall. All three stars are signed for “Breaking Dawn,” he said, meaning that Stewart and Pattinson will be dealing with the joys and woes of interspecies parenting and newly minted heartthrob Taylor Lautner will return as often-shirtless shape-shifter Jacob Black.
At the moment, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who’s penned all the “Twilight” movies, is working on the “Breaking Dawn” script(s). “It’s a work in process,” Godfrey said in an interview Friday. “The issue [of whether there will be one or two movies] is not going to be resolved until we get the full treatment and see whether it’s organic. If it’s not organic, I don’t think it will be done, and if it is, it will be. It really has to do with how much level of detail from the books there is, with all of these new vampires that appear in ‘Breaking Dawn,’ the whole section about Jacob… It’s a very long single movie if it does become a single movie.”

I’m sure 98% of the Twi-Fandom will agree with me that this should really be 2 movies. I can’t see them fitting all of ‘Breaking Dawn’ into one movie!!!

What makes this copy so “Special”, well it has a few extra little goodies.
First off, in the back of the book is the Q/A portion of the ‘Breaking Dawn Concert Series’ Stephenie Meyer did, followed by the Twilight Saga Song Book, which includes all the Blue October songs that inspired Stephenie throughout her writing the books.
Next up is the DVD from the Concert Series which includes Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld singing the song “My Never”!!!
Also included is the replica of the Justin’s handwritten lyrics for “My Never”!!!
The best little goody (to me anyways) would the poster of the back side of the book Jacket. It is a full color poster of Edward and Bella, from the soon to come ‘Twilight: The Graphic Novel‘.
The illustrator is Young Kim, who according to the poster is also a contributing illustrator to ‘The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide’ (the release date of the official guide keeps changing).
Only 1 million copies of the Special Edition were printed, so if you haven’t purchased yours, I would so soon.
What to Make of the ‘Breaking Dawn’ Plagiarism Claim
Originally posted on TwilightFanSource.com

By now I’m sure you’ve heard that Stephenie Meyer has been accused of plagiarizing her novel ‘Breaking Dawn’ by some author named Jordan Scott.
Scott has served Ms.Meyer with a “cease and desist order regarding the novel. Claiming that the idea of weddings, slightly rough honeymoon consummation, and other worldly pregnancies were stolen from her 2006 novel ‘The Nocturne’.
According to MTV.com Scott’s novel is about “a magical tale of doomed love between a young sorcerer and a teenage girl in 15th-century France”.
The following statement was released from Little,Brown publisher of ‘The Twilight Saga’.
“The claim that ‘Breaking Dawn’ by Stephenie Meyer somehow infringes on an alleged book by someone named Jordan Scott is completely without merit. Neither Stephenie Meyer nor her representatives had any knowledge of this writer or her supposed book prior to this claim. Ms. Scott’s attorney has yet to furnish us with a copy of the book to support this claim as requested. The world of the ‘Twilight Saga’ and the stories within it are entirely the creation of Ms. Meyer. Her books have been a phenomenal sensation, and perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that other people may seek to ride the coattails of such success. This claim is frivolous and any lawsuit will be defended vigorously.”
According to Craig Williams the attorney representing Scott what that they are not seeking compensation, but are asking that circulation of the book stop, and they want to prevent Summit Entertainment from making Breaking Dawn into a movie.
Per Twilight Lexicon,
“Loose fantasy ideas are not copyrightable, otherwise all vampire fiction would have stopped at Bram Stoker. Neither are loose romance plots copyrightable, or Harlequin would not be a leader in romance.”
I have read the document posted on TMZ.com, and the Twilight Lexicon has it right. Ms. Scott is trying to claim copyright infringement on basic fantasy ideas and words. In one of the “instances” the only similarity I could see was both characters being told they were beautiful.
So, all in all, I have to agree with The Lex when they say “he type of word-for-word lifting and exact modeling of character and circumstance that need to be present for a copyright case to have merit is simply not there.”
The World of Twilight is now live!!
The World of Twilight website is now live!!

The site features lots of goodies like picture/videos from both Twilight and New Moon, latest news like the new e-cards, and more.
However, I think the best thing would be the mentioning of ‘Breaking Dawn’. This would be the first time outside of IMDB or a cast mention that Summit Entertainment has made any kind of official remark about the fourth novel becoming a movie!!!
Be sure to check out all the new features!!
