Box Office: Inglourious Basterds Kills at Number One!!!

Quentin Tarantino’s World War II “Nah-Zee” killing movie battled its way to #1 with a 37.6 million dollar opening, combining with Foregin totals, it has a world wide total of $65.1 million!!.
This weekends other new openings ‘Shorts’ came in at #6 with $6.6 million and ‘Post Grad’ at #10 with $2.8 million.
Last weekends number one ‘District 9′ fell to #2 with $18.9 million, and G.I. Joe down to #3 with $12.5 million.

Box Office: District 9 Can’t Keep Humans Out

It was Alien’s vs elite Army group this weekend, and the Aliens won out. Peter Jackson’s “District 9″ came in at #1 with $37 million dollars making back its budget of $30 million. Last weekends top earner “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” fell to #2 with $22.5 million.
The Rachel McAdams/Eric Bana led movie came in at #3 with $19.2 million, “Julie & Julia” fell to #4 with $12.4 million, and “G-Force” rounds out the top 5 with $6.9 million.
Summit Entertainment’s “BandSlam” came in at #13 with $2.2 million, which means not even the draw of the newest “New Moon” trailer was enough to get this movie into the top 10.

Box Office: G.I. Joe Takes #1 Spot

Despite not having an advanced press screening, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra still debuted at #1 with $56.2 million. This falls on the the low scale of opening weekends if you compare to this summers Transformers, Harry Potter 6 and Star Trek.
Last weekends number one ‘Funny People’ fell to #5 with $7.8 million. This weekends other newcomer ‘Julie and Julia’ debuted at #2 with 20.1 million, well ‘G-Force’ stayed at #3 with $9.8 million and ‘Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince’ fell to #4 with $8.8 million brings its WorldWide total to $766.8 million.

Box Office: G-Force Dethrowns Harry Potter

Ahh, the power of Jerry Bruckheimer. Hi kids action movie managed to throw Harry Potter from the number 1 spot this weekend with $32.1 million. The 6th Harry Potter film moved down to #2 with $30 million. Box Office experts were expecting Harry Potter to hold on to the number one spot with G-Force debuting number two.
This weekend’s other newcomers ‘The Ugly Truth’ opened at #3 with $27 million and ‘The Orphan’ opened at #4 with $12.7 million. Rounding out the top top 5, Ice Age 3 fell to #5 with $8.2 million.
In its second weekend of release, ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ has managed to pull in $627.1 million,making it the fourth highest grossing movie for 2009.

Box Office: Harry Potter Sets New WorldWide Record

‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ has broken and set another box office record.
The 6th Harry Potter movie has set a new record for 5 day opening (worldwide), bringing in $396.7 million dollars!!! This beats the old record set by 2007’s Spiderman 3 which had brought in $381.7 million worldwide in its 5 day opening.
The film had also broken the midnight sales record of $18 million set by 2008’s ‘The Dark Knight’ by bring in $22.2 million dollars.
