Eclipse Footage to Debut at the Oscars?
According to EW.com, The Academy Awards (the Oscars) are looking to follow in MTV Movie Awards footsteps by debuting exclusive movie footage in order to drum up ratings.
And what movie are the they thinking…’The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ which is due out on 6/30/10.
The Oscars have been in a rating slump since 1998 when Titanic almost did a complete sweep of the awards.
Last years Oscars which were hosted by Hugh Jackman and featured Rob Pattinson as a presenter had a 10% increase in ratings.

The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie. The film franchise is based on the book series by Stephenie Meyer.

Jodelle Ferland Confirms Eclipse Casting

Earlier today we mentioned that Jodelle Ferland was rumored to be cast in ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’.
She has now confirmed the role both on her official fansite and her Twitter!!

Its official! Jodelle has been cast in the Twilight Saga, The 3rd Film, Eclipse! she will playing The Newborn Vampire! We are really excited for her. How so many of you had petitioned for Jodelle to be cast as Jane, and now she gets to work alongside the cast and Dakota Fanning who was cast as Jane for New Moon.

Eclipse Rumored to have its “Bree”

Variety has reported that 14yr old Canadian actress Jodelle Ferland has been cast in ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’.
The part she has been reportedly cast for was not mentioned by name but other sites are saying she will be playing newborn vampire “Bree”.
Miss Freland just recently finished shooting ‘Case 39′ with Renee Zellweger.
Currently, Summit Entertainment has not confirmed or denied the casting, but Variety tends to get this things correct.
‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ starts shooting later this month, and will be released on June 30, 2010.
‘Eclipse’ Casting News…Bryce Dallas Howard to Replace Rachelle Lefevre

Summit Entertainment announced to today that Bryce Dallas Howard (Spider Man 3, The Lady in the Water) will replace Rachelle Lefevre as “Victoria” in the third Twilight film ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’. Rachelle who has played Victoria in both ‘Twilight’ and ‘New Moon’ can not continue the role due to scheduling conflicts.

Los Angeles – July 28, 2009 – Summit Entertainment announced today that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of “Victoria” in the studio’s upcoming production of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. Actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who portrayed the character in TWILIGHT as well as the upcoming release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will start filming in Vancouver this coming August.
THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, the third film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series, will be directed by David Slade from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. The film will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.
“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. “Rachelle brought “Victoria” to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. Howard most recently starred in TERMINATOR SALVATION as Kate Connor and has been seen in SPIDER-MAN 3, LADY IN THE WATER, and THE VILLAGE. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her leading performance as an actress in the HBO film AS YOU LIKE IT.
